AMD Announces Official Pricing Of Radeon Vega Frontier Edition Graphics Card

AMD has officially released its first ever Vega-based graphics card called the Radeon Vega Frontier Edition. The workstation-grade graphics card was first unveiled about a month ago, during the company’s Financial Analyst Day event. The company also claimed the Radeon Vega Frontier Edition as its current most powerful graphics card.

AMD’s Radeon Vega Frontier Edition graphics card is, of course, targeted primarily at professionals who are engaging in fields of artificial intelligence, content creation, etc. Several key specifications of this graphics card include: 16GB HBM2 memory; 13.1 TFLOPS single precision performance; 26.2 half precision performance; and a stream processor count of 4096.

Interestingly, the Radeon Vega Frontier Edition graphics card features two operating modes. These are the “Radeon Pro Mode” and “Gaming Mode.” The reasoning behind this, according to AMD, is to make it easier for developers to switch from developing their games to actually play testing them. Oddly, the graphics card launched with no reviews from major tech sites.

Like AMD’s previously released Polaris-based Radeon Pro Duo graphics card, the company’s Radeon Vega Frontier Edition is also priced at US$999 (about RM4,291). It’s worth noting that this price is for the air-cooled version of the graphics card. The liquid-cooled variant, on the other hand, comes with a significantly higher price tag of US$1,499 (around RM6,439).
