AMD Showcases New Entry-Level Radeon Pro Workstation Graphics Cards

AMD has unveiled its latest addition to the Radeon Pro graphics card family. The company’s newest graphics cards are the Radeon Pro WX 2100 and WX 3100; both of which are entry-level workstation graphics cards aimed at the more “budget conscious” professional.

Like other previously released Radeon Pro graphics cards, both the WX 2100 and WX 3100 are based off of AMD’s 14nm Polaris GPU. When it comes to power, these graphics cards feature 512 stream processors (eight compute units), 1219MHz clock speed, and a peak FP32 (single precision) compute performance of 1.25 TFLOPS.

Interestingly, the only apparent differences between the Radeon Pro WX 2100 and WX 3100 are their VRAM capacities. The Radeon Pro WX 2100 has 2GB VRAM, while the WX 3100 features 4GB VRAM.

Based on comparisons published by AMD, both new Radeon Pro graphics cards by the company are up to 28% faster than Nvidia’s Quadro P400 and P600 workstation graphics cards. Design-wise, both the Radeon Pro WX 2100 and WX 3100 look identical to one another. They’re both endowed with Radeon’s flamboyant “YInMn Blue” colour scheme.

AMD’s Radeon Pro WX 2100 is expected to come with a respectable price tag of US$149 (around RM635). Meanwhile, the Radeon Pro WX 3100 may feature a slightly higher price of US$199 (about RM848).
