Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 May Come With A Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Chipset Instead Of 865

There have been countless rumours going on about the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2. A couple of them indicate that it will be more affordable than the first one, with a possible trade off being less storage. New rumours suggest that it may not feature the latest chipset as well.

Leaker Ishan Agarwal shared on Twitter that the company’s next foldable phone will come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset, as opposed to the Snapdragon 865 that was announced late last year.

This will mean that the new Samsung Galaxy Fold will share the same chipset with the current one. Like the current Galaxy Fold, it looks like there will not be an Exynos variant either.

Exclusive for @mysmartprice: Samsung's new Galaxy Fold clamshell phone, the SM-F700F will feature Snadragon 855, NOT 865. It will also have a 10MP front camera. Galaxy A51, A71, S20 4G, S20+ 4G Production has also started in India. #Samsung

He also said that the Galaxy Fold’s successor will indeed come in a clamshell form factor. This gives more credence to the images alleged to be the new foldable phone itself that showed up last month.

The leaker also mentions a 10MP front-facing camera. This may be the same one found on the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10 Plus.

As it is now, the supposed Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 is said to be awaiting a February launch. This lines up with the company’s first Unpacked event of the year. This is where the Galaxy S line of flagships are usually announced. The original Galaxy Fold was announced here last year as well. It wont be long before we see if the company truly intends to make the announcement.
