Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 Teased By Designer

Remember when Lei Jun, the CEO of Xiaomi said that the Mi Mix successor is in the works? Well, the designer of the original phone, Philip Stark, just posted a video of the Mi Mix 2 on his Facebook account. It looks like there are more curves incorporated into the second generation phone.

The French-based designer posted a video on his official Facebook Page, with the title “Mi Mix 2 Conceptual Product Design WIP”. It may be a work in progress, but it shares a tantalising glimpse into the design of the upcoming Mi Mix 2.

The screen to body ratio of the Mi Mix is enhanced even further, as the video shows an impossibly large screen on the front of the phone. The minimal bezel is even thinner this time around, even at the bottom of the phone. Even so, Xiaomi managed to fit in a front-facing camera, just like on the original Mi Mix.

Imagine a phone with a larger screen than this!

Specs of the phone are rumoured to be as follows: Snapdragon 835 chipset, 6GB of RAM, an AMOLED screen (which we suspect will be in the region of 6.2-inches) and a 19MP rear camera. A 4500mAh battery will run the show, and some form of scratch-resistant glass from Corning will cover the front and the back of the phone.

The report also says that the phone is set to be launched sometime mid-September, with an expected price of around CNY 4,999 (or about RM3,218)
